About Cascadia Quality Homecare
A family-owned, family-run homecare provider built on trust, compassion, integrity, and a genuine belief that everyone deserves to live well in the place they call home.

Who we are
Care that goes beyond meeting needs
At Cascadia Quality Homecare, we believe that exceptional care is about more than meeting needs - it is about preserving dignity, promoting independence, and helping people live meaningful lives in the place they know and love most: their own home.
As a family-owned and family-run business, our values are deeply personal. We understand that inviting someone into your home to provide care is one of the most important decisions a family can make. That is why everything we do is built on trust, compassion, integrity, and a genuine commitment to treating every person as if they were a member of our own family.
Cascadia Quality Homecare was founded by Nzi Kouame, whose passion for delivering high-quality, person-centred care is the cornerstone of everything we do.
To provide compassionate, nurse-led homecare that enables every individual to live safely, independently, and with dignity in the place they call home.
Our mission
The story behind Cascadia
From law to care - a journey shaped by people
The inspiration behind Cascadia came from our founder Nzi's unique professional journey and personal experiences.
Nzi originally trained and practised as a personal injury lawyer, representing individuals whose lives had been changed by illness, injury, and life-altering circumstances. Through this work, she witnessed first-hand the devastating impact that poor health, delayed interventions, and inadequate support systems can have on individuals and their families.
It was during this time that she discovered something that would shape the rest of her career: the transformative power of preventive care, rehabilitation, and early intervention. She saw that when people receive the right support at the right time, outcomes improve dramatically. Families experience less distress, hospital admissions can be prevented, and individuals are given the opportunity to maintain their independence and quality of life for longer.
This realisation led Nzi to transition into health and social care, where she has now spent more than ten years working across domiciliary care, community services, hospital pathways, and social care nursing.
“I wanted to make a positive difference in at least one person's life.”
- Nzi Kouame, Founder & Registered Manager
Her personal experiences have also shaped her approach to care. Having neurodiverse family members gave her a unique perspective and deep appreciation of the challenges individuals and families often face when navigating health and social care systems. These experiences ignited a passion for advocacy that continues to define her leadership today.
“For me, care is about ensuring that every person's voice is heard, their rights are protected, and their choices are respected.”
Throughout her career, Nzi has combined clinical expertise with compassionate advocacy. She has become particularly recognised for her ability to identify opportunities for improvement, challenge traditional thinking, and develop innovative solutions that improve outcomes for the people she supports.
Innovation in practice
Reducing hospital admissions through observation and advocacy
One example that illustrates Nzi's approach involved supporting an individual who had been admitted to hospital almost every month. Through careful observation, critical thinking, and close collaboration with healthcare professionals, she identified patterns that had previously gone unnoticed. She advocated for further investigations and ensured the individual received the care and prioritisation they needed.
Recognising the gaps that often occur between hospital and home, she also developed a structured hospital discharge checklist - supporting teams from pre-admission through to discharge, ensuring people returned home with the right care in place. Hospital admissions reduced dramatically, and the individual was able to live with greater stability, dignity, and quality of life.
“Sometimes, one compassionate interaction, one conversation, or one act of advocacy can change the entire trajectory of someone's life.”
- Nzi Kouame
Nzi's dedication to improving outcomes has been recognised nationally - she has received two social care awards celebrating her contribution to the sector, her innovation, and her unwavering commitment to improving the lives of the people she supports.
However, she remains clear that great care is never delivered by one person alone:
“Care is always a team effort. Every positive outcome is built on the compassion, dedication, and professionalism of the people around us.”
